Reminders:
  • Please contact the nurse when your child will be absent.
  • Please keep your child's emergency contact information up to date. The nurse must be able to reach you if your child becomes ill or injured at school.  Please make every effort to include contact information for someone that has transportation to pick up your child.
  • Please provide a change of clothes in your child's backpack or classroom in the event your child's clothes become wet or soiled.
What's current?     sun Good ol' summertime...Don't forget! Fun in the sun requires protection from the sun's harmful rays.  Be sure to apply sunscreen when spending time outside, even on cloudy days. Kids get most of their lifetime sun exposure before age 18, so it's important that parents teach kids how to be safe in the sun.  It will greatly reduce chances of them developing skin cancers later in life.

What's the 24 hour rule?  This is a guide-line for keeping your child home from school when he/she has been ill.  Your child should be fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication for a full 24 hours before returning to school.  They should also remain home for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhea. Even if your child wants to return to school, they could still be contagious to others and have a weakened immunity.  Your child should be eating & drinking normally and feeling up to all required school activity. Returning too soon exposes others to illness and causes inconvenience to parents who must be called to pick up their child.

Remember:  Contact the school nurse for information on free access to dental care for your child through Complete Care's Smile Smart program. Free or low-cost eye exam information is also available.
