"Access to knowledge is the superb, the supreme act of truly great civilizations.
Of all the institutions that purport to do this, free libraries stand virtually alone in accomplishing this mission."

"Once you learn to read you will be forever free."

WINNERS' CIRCLE
  • Winners' Circle is a program that encourages reading. Students read books of their choice to earn points; books read are reported on as book reports and emailed to the librarian. Students who accumulate 15 points by May 15 become members of Winners' Circle and are rewarded with a certificate. If funds permit, we will go on a special field trip. Email Mrs. DeFrank at kdefrank@glassboroschools.us
  • READERS ARE LEADERS
Another program we run is the Readers are Leaders. The student from each class who reads the most pages will be given this award at the end of the year. Students must participate in the Winners' Circle to be considered for this achievement. Winners names are inscribed on the Readers are Leaders plaque that hangs in the Library Media Center.

    BOOK FAIR
A Scholastic Book Fair will be held during the last week of school in October, October 24 - 28. Langauage Arts classes will be invited to visit during the week. The Book Fair will also be open during Lunches. The Book Fair is a fund raiser for the library programs such as Winners' Circle, Readers are Leaders, Read Across America, and our Trivia Contest
    TRIVIA CONTEST
The library holds a Trivia Contest each week. A question will be read over the announcements on Monday. Students and staff have all week to find the answer. Submit your answer on the form on the library counter. You must include your source!  One winner will be chosen at random from all the correct answers. A small prize is awarded, too.

    DONATIONS
The library gladly accepts donations of age appropriate books and magazines. Donations may be added to the library collection or shared with classroom teachers. We also gladly take abandoned houseplants, out of style holiday decorations, and lonely aquarium fish. The fish will go in the aquarium at Bullock School.
