Imagination is encouraged in our Writer's Workshop.Your child can use their imagination at home to create Speculation Fiction new worlds, develop, interesting characters, and write them on a journey to resolve a personal, environmental, or social conflict. Your child can practice this skill at home with a journal Private.This is a weakness of 4th graders and we are practicing daily in school. Help your child record small moments in their Writers Notebook, so they can have many ideas to select from for their Personal Narratives. Make observations about their world to synthesize these into a thesis statements and support these statements creating various
Students will work in small groups and work stations to improve reading( narrative and informational text), fluency, and writing.Montlhy work station portfolio's will be used to record information your child has learned in small group, A.R., and work stations.Portfolios are an independent reading grade, and are completed in class.
Reading is the key that open doors!
Please discuss your child's Accelerated Reading book with them daily.Ask them questions about the characters and problems of a story, or have them share important information they learned in informational text. Each student must complete two AR tests 1st mkpd. and three AR tests 2nd, 3rd, and 4th mkpd.These are test grades, so have fun and read!!!
